2. WHERE IS ISRAEL?
Israel is a country located in the western part of the Asian continent, bordering Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan to the east, Egypt to the southwest, and the Mediterranean Sea to the west.
(*) It also borders Palestine, a state whose sovereignty and official status are still in dispute. Specifically to the east (West Bank) and southwest (Gaza Strip); the light green areas on the map at the beginning of this article.
